occupational health and safety act: violence and harassment Training
We provide specific training and services such as site analysis that address the requirements mandated within the O.H.S.A.
In our continued commitment to creating safe and secure workplaces, we have tailored a program that helps workplaces in Ontario better protect their employees from work-related violence as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act: Violence and Harassment – Section 32
Introduced as an amendment to the Ontario Health and Safety Act, this training underscores the legal and moral responsibility of employers to safeguard their employees from workplace violence and harassment. It has been instrumental in driving a shift towards a more preventative approach to workplace safety, spotlighting the need for increased education and awareness.
At Threat Ready, we have designed a comprehensive half-day training session that effectively covers the requirements of O.H.S.A. – Section 32. Our program is not just about ticking boxes; it is about fostering a genuine understanding of the law, its implications, and the practical strategies that can be implemented for prevention.
The training session begins with an exploration of the responsibilities of the employer under O.H.S.A. – Section 32, offering detailed insights into the preventive and response measures that organizations are legally obliged to put in place. These include the development of workplace violence and harassment policies, establishment of reporting and incident response procedures, and the implementation of risk assessment strategies.
Note the responsibility responsibility does not lie solely with the employer; employees are empowered in ensuring a safe workplace environment. Our training also encompasses a review of the responsibilities of employees under the law, encouraging active participation in the prevention and reporting of work-related violence.
A major focus of our O.H.S.A. – Section 32 training is on prevention through education and awareness. We firmly believe that knowledge is power, and when employees and employers are well-informed about the potential risks and the available preventive measures, they are better equipped to protect themselves and their colleagues from workplace violence.
